This is only the beginning...
Well, it has finally happened. As you knew it would, me having a pink princess loving daughter and all....I've finally become a dance mom.
Mindy and I signed Harper and Kate up for 3 year-old Creative Movement class and it really is what you'd expect--the most adorable thing you've ever seen.
Kate LOVES it. Like, she-will-do-anything-I-ask-so-she-can-go-loves-it.
They don't let parents watch (something about us being "too distracting") so these are the best photos I have since I had to covertly take them through the window. Look at her point those toes! I can't even.

Insta-friends
Two incredibly lucky things happened yesterday:
1) It was 63 degrees on the 16th of January. Say what???? Incredible.
2) We saw the Rosarios. Woohoo!!!! Fabulous.
Jen emailed me a couple of months ago to say that they would be visiting Kansas City for a week in January and "did we want to drive down to see them?" I think I had to think about for about 3 seconds before I was trying to make it work. You don't just let a chance to see your insta-friend slip by.
So, we made the quick drive to KC on Thursday night and spent Friday with Ben, Jen and Addison. We let our girls get acquainted--can you say mini insta-friends?--and then spent the afternoon at the KC Zoo. Enter lucky thing #1 here, we had a simply gorgeous January day.
Love you Jen, miss you Jen!
Also, let's state for the record that the KC Zoo is pretty darn awesome. We had the coolest cheetah encounter, got to see hippos up close (maybe a little too close) and saw our first kangaroos ever. Very cool!

A Building Party
Kate and I trekked up to Wayne this week for a very important party--the Grand Opening of my Dad's new building. Just 15 months after a devastating tornado ripped through Wayne and destroyed the old building, they have a bright, shiny new place to call home. And what a better way to celebrate than with food and dancing.
Like usual, Kate ruled the dance floor with her killer moves.
Happy New Building Dad, we are so proud of you!

Opening Day!
So, did we make to opening day at Mt. Crescent? Why, of-course we did!
Our little ripper only wanted to take one run and then spent the rest of the morning playing in the snow. But, there were no tears or fears and in our book, that's a win folks!
(Um, never mind the brown grass.)

A new tradition
Ice skating! If you do it two years in a row, it's officially a tradition right? We followed up last year's ice skating excursion in Houston with a visit to the rink in downtown Omaha this year. Kate's little cries of, "I'm doing it! I'm skating!" were kind-of the best ever.
Introducing....
The newest baby boy cousin, Lucas Tate.
We were so excited to meet this little cutie over Christmas, welcome to the family Lucas!
